Epoxy Garage Flooring Cost Melbourne 2026
Real epoxy garage flooring prices in Melbourne for 2026. Every quote we give is transparent, itemised and backed by our 7-year workmanship warranty.
What You Can Expect to Pay
- Single garage (approx 18-24 sqm): from $1,999
- Double garage (approx 36-48 sqm): from $2,800
- Triple garage or workshop (60+ sqm): from $70 per square metre
All prices include diamond grinding, crack repair, primer, colour coat and UV-stable polyurethane topcoat.
What Affects Your Price
- Concrete condition - heavily cracked or oil-stained concrete takes more prep time and materials
- Garage size - larger areas get better per-square-metre pricing because fixed setup costs are spread wider
- Finish choice - flake broadcast is mid-range; metallic epoxy sits at the premium end due to material cost and skill required
- Access - steep driveways or tight rear-lane access adds setup and equipment time
Products and Materials
We use APC Coatings products exclusively. APC is one of Australia's leading epoxy system manufacturers, and their UV-stable polyurethane topcoats are a significant part of why Floor Lab floors hold their colour and gloss for years longer than budget systems. Material quality is one of the main cost variables between a $1,200 quote and a $2,800 quote for the same size garage.
Before signing any quote, Consumer Affairs Victoria recommends asking for written specifications of the materials to be used and the scope of work. That advice applies directly to epoxy flooring: a quote without material specs is a quote you cannot compare properly.
Understanding the Price Gap
When you receive quotes ranging from $900 to $3,000 for the same double garage, the difference is almost entirely in surface preparation and product specification. A $900 quote is using acid etching or a light buff and a single-coat water-based system. A $2,800 quote includes planetary diamond grinding, moisture testing, a multi-coat 100% solids system, and a UV-stable polyurethane topcoat.
Both look similar in a photo taken on the day. Within two to three years they look very different. The $900 job will be peeling. The $2,800 job will look the same as it did on day one.
Why Floor Lab Pricing Is Different
We do not quote over the phone. Every price comes after a free site visit where we measure, inspect the slab and talk through finishes. That is how we avoid surprises on both sides. Our quotes are written, itemised, and fixed - we do not charge more than what is in the document.
